Jemma Phillipson (Vocals)

Jemma is 17 years old, which is clearly a lot younger than the other members and she carries a constant concern that her presence serves only to lower the average age of the band … a concern the other band members seem somehow reluctant to disuade her of! She describes herself as “… very tiny for my age and apparently I am my mother’s double (personally I can’t see it) which, of course, is the best gift God could give anybody (HAHA)”.

Oh … and she loves her Mum.

And David Beckham.

Jemma sings. A lot. She will generally be found on stage during school shows, and is a veteran of several amateur musical productions alongside Kathryn and Barbara. She also plays a mean tambourine, and an even meaner violin and made her first appearance on violin for theREIGN during the band’s Hull City Hall debut at Easter 2008. No pressure, huh?

MUSICAL INFLUENCES
I don’t really have any musical influences, only the people that can move their fingers up and down a piano keyboard really really fast and can play some of Mozart’s most complicated pieces. One day I would love to be able to play like that and amaze myself.

PERSONAL GOAL FOR YOUR MUSIC MINISTRY
One day I want to lead the worship in my church and possibly in other churches aswell. If I was given the chance, which I will if it is what God wants me to do, then I would love to be a part of the worship team at some annual Christian conferences like Spring Harvest or New Wine. An opportunity like that would make my life!!!

FAVOURITE FOOD
That has got to be my grandma’s bacon and egg sandwiches. They are out of this world and nobody can rustle one of them up like she can!!!

FAVOURITE MOVIE
GREASE is the most amazing film ever produced. I have seen it that many times that I can recite the whole script (I know I’m sad, you do not have to say it) “lookin’ pretty good this year huh Riz”. Oh and also John Travolta is a bit of a handsome being.
