New Season, New RE

By tfkm on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Yesterday evening saw the first public outing for Though We Are Many at St John’s Church in Bransholme. It is always a nerve-jangling time introducing a new version of this event, and putting it on in a room with other people in attendance for the first time can be quite daunting, but I think we are now getting the hang of this.

All in all, it went pretty well, a couple of things to tweak slightly and the flow of the whole thing, particularly the transitions from section to section and song to song, will undoubtedly improve as we do it more but, for me, it felt like the best debut of the three in terms of how well prepared we were and how well we played as a band.

Rachel claims it was scary (it was her own church and congregation, after all), but you certainly couldn’t tell from the way she led things from the front.

If you can make it to one of this series of events (and they are well spread out) we would love to see you there. If not, you could always book us for your church in the Spring.

:D

Every blessing,

I just wanted to say thanks for a fantastic evening. Our youth group ranging in age from 12 to 18, had a range of responses from ‘it was too loud’ to ‘better than caffeine’! And playing the ‘did you spot that rock song’ game in the car, enlivened our journey home, along with ‘buzz’ that the group came away from the event with.

Many thanks for your efforts in putting together this accessible, exciting, and challenging encounter with God.

Btw – The time for the event was wrong on the website (not a huge problem for us) but thought should make you aware.

The Eucharist
Central to worship for Anglicans is the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, also called the Holy Communion, the Lord's Supper or the Mass. In this offering of prayer and praise, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are recalled through the proclamation of the word and the celebration of the sacrament.
