Click on the thumbnail to the left to see a larger version of the poster.

The event itself will be a straightforward mixture of lively praise and worship, a few of our own songs for good measure and a sermon from Mr Winter.

This is exciting event for theREIGN to be a part of, and should be an uplifting and inspiring afternoon out (hopefully) in the sun. If you are in the vicinity, come along and join in.

I have implemented a quick update to the site that makes it easier for the ever-growing group of internet users accessing the web using mobile devices. The update means no change whatsoever to the main thereign.net site (as you can already see if you are reading this on a desktop or laptop computer), but auto-detects if you are using a mobile browser and switches to a cut-down interface specially designed to work well on the smaller screen.

You do not even need to use a special URL to get to it, just use the normal www.thereign.net address.

It has been checked on my own Windows Mobile 6 phone using Mobile IE and Opera Mobile, as well as a friend’s iPhone, and it seems to work extremely well, but if you have any problems with using the mobile site or anything seems to be broken please let us know.

Please note that the links to Flickr, MySpace Audio and YouTube Videos do not work on the mobile site.

Every blessing,

As you can see, the site is back in the land of the living and work is now proceeding apace with the rebuild and re-design. One of the downsides of using Wordpress (or indeed any database driven site) is that you cannot do any meaningful work beyond uploading the files before the new DNS settings have permeated across the internet. That mans, unfortunately that most of your design and build work is done in full view of the public. C’est la vie.

The upsides in flexibility and ease of administration do, however, outweigh those downsides, provided you have a sympathetic audience who don’t mind seeing the site after it has just got up in the morning.

Work will continue over the next few days, and hopefully by the weekend, the new and improved site will be here in all its glory.

Every blessing,

In a bold bid to enter the 21st Century, theREIGN have now created a presence on Facebook and Twitter, as well as giving their MySpace presence a long overdue update.

In addition, new outlets for our music and events have been created on PureVolume and Last.fm.

The goal of all of this is just to try and get the word out about what we are doing and let people know particularly about the Rock Eucharist events, but given how poor David is at keeping this site bang up to date, it will be interesting to see how well he manages to keep on top of all of these as well as well but time will tell.

Go have a look, become a fan or follower, and let’s see what sweet music we can make to further God’s Kingdom.

theREIGN’s lineup has been relatively stable for the last few years with no comings and goings since the release of Where Jesus Touches The Earth. However, drummer Ivan Carruthers recently decided to hang up his sticks (as far as theREIGN is concerned, at least) so that he could free up time to concentrate on his other church commitments.

I would like to place on record my thanks for all the hard work, time effort, support and insight (not to mention skin banging) that Ivan and his various drumkits have give to us over the last few years, and we will certainly miss his presence with us as both a musician and a friend.

But … things have to move on, and with a season of Rock Eucharists already in the diary, replacing Ivan has been a priority for the band over the last couple of months, and we are pleased to announce that we will be joined for our Spring season by Kev Sargeson, former drummer with Destiny Calling (among other Hull Christian bands).

theREIGN are delighted that Kev has agreed to join us, and hope that he feels at home with the band and chooses to stick around beyond the Spring season.

We would value everyone’s prayers for the coming events, especially for Kev as he gets to grips with what we are doing.

Every blessing,

Thanks to a little luck, a great deal of elbow grease, some beyond the call of duty from our hosts and, I imagine, a little divine intervention the site is back up and running … almost.

All of the posts, pages, calendar and downloadable extras are back in place and up to date, whilst the picture gallery is back in place and just lacking in actual pictures at the moment. The Greenbelt 2008 stuff is back up as it was, and the rest will be done over the next few days.

At least we know this hacker attack (unlike previous ones) was not directed against Christian sites as they basically took out the entire server at the webhosts’ end … and I believe mine are the only Christian sites on it.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any way to prevent this kind of thing from ever happening, so we thank you for your continued patience while we resolve the outstanding issues and look forward to getting back to the music imminently.

Every blessing,

We have now added a calendar plugin to the site, which provides two services for our visitors:

1. An “at a glance” guide to the next five events on the Home Page

2. A fuller calendar of all forthcoming events (click here)

You can click on the event within the summary and the full calendar to get further details of each event.

The plugin we have used is called Gigs Calendar, and gives us everything we need, however it does create a few quirks for the site. Every event added produces a blog post, which we have excluded from the main blog list and the RSS Feed. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop them from registering within the blog itself, and they are archived according to the date of the event, not the date they were added.

This means that the archive already shows blog entries right through to April 2009! Who needs a TARDIS, huh?

We figured that it was better to just live with this small quirk than to leave out the calendar altogether and we hope you agree. We also hope that you find this function to be useful, and use it for shaping any prayers you would like to offer for our ministry.

And, don’t forget … you can have an event of your own. Just contact us if you are interested.

Every blessing,
