Next Up: Easter Praise

Having completed our short Spring season of Rock Eucharist events, we are now looking forward to a run of outreach and worship events through to the Summer, the first of which is the Easter Sunday evening Praise and Worship event at St Aidan’s church in East Hull.

This will be the third year we have led the worship for this event, and we are privileged to have been given a stronger role in organising the evening as a whole on this occasion.

In music and worship terms, Easter is (perhaps not surprisingly) my favourite time of the year. There is a huge variety of songs to choose from in a wide range of styles, as writers do come back to this pivotal event in the story of Jesus time and time again. That means that whatever style or focus you want to give to an Easter event, there is a style and a crop of songs to suit you.

With the cessation of Hull’s central Easter Praise celebration after the 2009 event, we were delighted that a few churches around the City picked up the baton and humbled to be invited to lead worship at this particular one, in a church where enjoy strong links and a feeling of coming home.

If the event is anywhere near as powerful and blessed as the last two, it is certainly an evening not to be missed … an opportunity to come together, sing, pray, celebrate and (above all) simply bask together in the presence and spirit of Jesus so we can all head out into our normal lives refilled and re-energised to build His Kingdom in our communities.

We are looking forward to it.

Every blessing,
